The basics
What is a custom hobby barn?
A custom hobby barn is a steel barn on your property finished around what you love to do: working on cars, woodworking, crafting, storing the boat and the RV, or hosting friends at the bar. It's a custom accessory building planned for your hobby, not a generic shed.
Every Hardy Barn starts with the same dependable shell. Our 30+ years building custom and luxury homes means the inside gets real systems and finishes: power where the tools are, good lighting, plumbing for a sink or bar, and insulation and HVAC for year-round use.
Popular hobby barns
The gearhead garage with a car lift and room for every toy. The retreat with a wet bar, a big screen and a fireplace. The craft and gathering studio with long worktables and storage walls. A bar barn or party barn for entertaining a short walk from the house.
Who builds one?
Landowners who've outgrown the garage, families who want a place to host, and anyone adding a party barn to their land.

FAQ
Hobby and entertainment barn questions
What's the difference between a hobby barn and a pole barn?
Every Hardy Barn starts with a well-built shell, then we finish it for how you'll use it: power, lighting, plumbing, insulation and finishes chosen with the same care we bring to custom homes.
Can my barn store an RV or a boat?
Yes. Tall overhead doors and clear spans make room for RVs, campers and equipment. Our six-bay storage barn has six 12′ × 14′ overhead doors.
Can I add a bar or bathroom?
Yes. Plumbing for a wet bar, kitchenette or game-day bathroom is a popular add-on.
What if I have a set budget?
Tell us your number and what the barn is for. We'll recommend the size and options that fit that range best.
How long does it take?
Shell-only barns are usually done about 14 weeks after first contact. Finished interiors take longer depending on the add-ons.
