The basics
What does basketball court construction include?
Basketball court construction covers everything under and around the game: where the court sits on your land, how water drains away from it, the base, the playing surface, the hoop and lines, and options like lighting and fencing.
Outdoor court or court in a barn?
An outdoor court is the simplest way to get playing on your own land. If you want to play through Indiana winters, we can put the court inside a clear-span barn instead. See our indoor basketball court barns.
Half court or full court?
A half court fits a smaller footprint and costs less. A full court needs more room. We'll size it to your land, your budget and how serious the games get.
Add the extras
Lighting for evening games, fencing or netting to keep the ball in play, a spot for spectators, or a barn beside the court for storage and a game-day bathroom.
What we plan with you
- Court placement on your land
- Grade, drainage and base
- Playing surface and line options
- Hoop choice and court layout
- Lighting and fencing options
- Room to add a barn later
Planning your court
What matters in a basketball court build
We walk through each of these at the site visit, before anything is priced or ordered.
Court size
Half court, full court or a driveway-style shooting area, sized to the room you have.
Site and drainage
Grade and drainage decide how well an outdoor court holds up. We look at both on your site before we price it.
Surface
Surface choices differ in grip, feel, cost and upkeep. We'll compare the options that fit how you play.
Hoop and lines
The goal you choose and the lines you need, laid out with run-off room around the court.
Lighting
Court lighting placed to cut glare, so games can keep going after dark.
Fencing
Fencing or ball-stop netting keeps loose balls out of the yard and the drive.

FAQ
Basketball court construction questions
Do you build outdoor basketball courts?
Yes. We build stand-alone courts on your property, and we can also put a court inside a clear-span barn for year-round play.
Should I build a half court or a full court?
A half court fits a smaller space and costs less. A full court needs more room. We size the court to your land, your budget and how you'll play.
What surface should I choose?
It depends on how you'll use the court and how much upkeep you want. We'll compare feel, durability, cost and upkeep with you before anything is ordered.
Can you add lights and fencing?
Yes. Court lighting lets you play after dark, and fencing or ball-stop netting keeps the ball in play.
How long does it take?
It depends on your site, the court size and the options you choose. Your contract includes your schedule.
